The Villa

Nestled among Barolo’s famous Nebbiolo vines, Villa Ribota offers 5 huge bedrooms, 4 modern bathrooms and a swimming pool with views across the vines to the snow-capped Alps.

Sleeping up to 10 people, it is the perfect base from which to experience everything the region has to offer… from wine tasting to cycling, truffle hunting to trekking.

The Villa is set outside the hilltop village of Novello, in the heart of the UNESCO Langhe. There are fantastic views from each of the large bedrooms, while the living/dining room, with its open fireplace, is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of wine tasting.

In front of the Villa is a garden which runs right into the vines, and there is also an outside cooking and dining area overlooking the pool.

The Villa is situated in the peace of the countryside, with walking routes running right by, yet it is just moments from the world famous Barolo villages (La Morra, Monforte d’Alba and Barolo), while Alba and Bra, the homes of White Truffles and Slow Food respectively, are each just 15 minutes away. It really is the perfect base from which to experience the best of this still relatively-undiscovered part of Italy.

The Langhe

The Langhe, in Piemonte, north-west Italy, is one of the world’s best and most varied wine regions. Vines stretch in every direction, broken only by hazelnut groves, hilltop villages and medieval castles.

Tourism is low-key here and the pace of life is slow. Although tourists have started to discover the area in recent years, it is still delightfully quiet.

It is the perfect place to escape the frenetic pace of modern life… the Slow Food Movement is based just down the road, in Bra, and wine tastings can last an entire afternoon. Mind you, with Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto, Nascetta and many more wines produced in this small area, it’s easy to see why!

It isn’t just a wine lovers paradise though… this is the home of white truffles and wonderful food; truffle hunters scour the forests beneath the house throughout the autumn, while Alba, just 15 minutes away, hosts the world famous International White Truffle Fair. There are dozens of amazing restaurants to choose from, just moments from the villa; from tiny Osterie to Michelin-starred destinations.
