About Us

We’re Rich, Allegra and Bee. Originally from the UK (and partly Italy), we have been living in the Langhe for more than 10 years now. We fell in love with the views, the wine, the food, the cycling and the people to such an extent that we gave up our jobs, loaded up the car and moved here to find a farmhouse to renovate.

It took a while, but eventually we found the perfect place, tucked into the vines outside of Novello, just a stone’s throw from Barolo and La Morra. The renovations were an experience, but we got there and in late 2014, Villa Ribota was born.

We have been welcoming guests from around the world for 9 years now and love it as much today as we did when we first opened the doors. We are always available to help guests with wine tastings, restaurants, walking or cycling routes and are constantly searching for new experiences to share.

Why Italy?

Allegra is half-Italian so once we decided we wanted to leave the UK, Italy was teh obvious choice. That and the food, wine, landscape, weather, cycling, skiing and walking…
Why The Langhe?

We fell in love with everything about the Langhe, and we’re sure you will too. From the views to the wine, the walking to the friendly locals, everything about this area is just perfect. The pace of life here is slow, there are no traffic jams, no strip malls and the focus is on quality, be that in wine, food or life in general.
Why Villa Ribota?

We saw a gap in the market for a top quality Villa for large families or groups of friends. There was just nothing like that in the Langhe. Everything in the house is designed to help you have the best stay possible. No compromises. And what’s more, when you stay here you also get us (if you want us…) and our 10 years of local knowledge. We can take the guesswork out of your stay and make sure you get the absolute most from your time here.

Situated right outside Barolo, it’s a perfect base for exploring the Langhe area, either on foot, by bike or car. “Probably the best placed we’ve stayed full stop. The house is fabulous. Nice big rooms, fantastic living space and utterly incredible pool area. The view is honestly to die for. It’s also in a brilliant location. Only 5 minutes drive from the restaurants and bars of La Morra, Barolo and Novello. Probably the best thing though are the hosts, Rich and Allegra.”

“What can I say?! Not only is this home stunningly beautiful, our hosts went WAY above and beyond for us. First… the house. It is very close to so many gorgeous towns and they did an amazing job on the renovation. The pool is fantastic. The view is stunning. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and there is a grill as well. Our hosts Allegra, Rich and Bee were the best. They are just lovely people and want to make sure their guests are happy… In short, you will love staying here and they will take great care of you!

“I don’t think I can overstate the graciousness they showed us and the quality of every aspect of the house. They helped us with local dining in Novello (L’Angolo di Rosina is a must), an in-house chef’s dinner (ask for Shira), and perhaps the best cycling experience of my life. The house was very comfortable for the 13 of us – the kitchen has everything you’ll need, the pool is beautifully maintained, and the view across the valley to Novello is breathtaking. I highly recommend Rich and Allegra’s place as THE place to stay.”
