Things to do
The Langhe and beyond
Walking
There are hundreds of walking trails through the vines linking villages, vineyards and restaurants. You can walk into Novello for lunch, continue to a local winery, then stroll to Barolo for aperitivi! Our digital guide contains a few good local walks and we are always happy to help!
Cycling
Long, sweeping, empty roads dotted with villages for the all-important coffee stops will delight road cyclists, while steep vineyard tracks and woodland provide challenges for mountain bikers. There are also some great tracks for gravel cyclists. We are always happy to help you plan a ride!
E-Bikes
If you like the idea of cycling, but the hills (there are a lot of hills) are keeping you awake at night, you should hire an e-bike. They are available from nearby Bike Square, who will even deliver the bikes to the house for you.
Wine Tasting
There are hundreds of wineries, big and small, where you will be welcomed in by the producers and invited to sit around their kitchen table as they open bottle after bottle for you and tell you all about the wine and how it is made. Ask us for advice.
Truffle Hunting
Throughout autumn, barking dogs can be heard echoing through the early morning fog as they scour the forest forests for truffles. We know a trifolau and his dog who can take you on a search. Finding, and then eating, your own white truffle is quite the thrill.
Cookery Class
What better way to get to know the Langhe than to learn to cook some its best-known dishes? Great for children and adults alike. You can go to a local market with a chef, pick out some ingredients, cook them up and eat the results!
Golf
Barolo Golf (currently closed) is just 100 metres from your door. It is a challenging nine-hole course with wonderful views. Thanks to double tees, it can also be played as an 18-hole. Further afield there are well-known courses in Cherasco, Turin and Fubine.
Hot Air Balloon
What better way to see the Langhe’s beautiful UNESCO landscape than from a hot air balloon? They often take off from Barolo Golf and fly right over the house. Various packages are available. Ask us for details.
Home Chef
Make the restaurant come to you! We can put you in touch with a chef who will come to the Villa and prepare you a wonderful meal (they’ll discuss the menu with you before your stay) so that you can eat staggeringly good food without leaving home!
The Riviera
The Italian Riviera is just over an hour south of teh Villa. The beaches and town of the Ligurian coast make for a great day out!
Turin
Less than an hour from the Villa. Wander the piazze, do some shopping or visit The Museum of Cinema, The Egyptian Museum or The Automobile Museum.
For The Kids
There is loads to keep children happy. From cookery classes to chocolate tastings, farms to adventure playgrounds! Check out our blog or ask us for more details.
